I told myself I would never get one of these cutting machines but then sure enough, I did. I waited and waited until Cricut delivered their newest competitor, the Cricut Explore. After some research(basically 100 hours browsing the web for reviews and youtube for video comparisons) I purchased the Silhouette Cameo! It was just that much faster in terms of cutting more intricate designs than the Explore. This isn't a comparison of any sort but rather a little rant. I LOVE this machine! I don't think I ever fully comprehended how fun working with paper is until I got this. Of course the machine works well with other medias but I have yet to try them all. The giant stack of scrapbooking paper on my craft shelf was practically screaming at me to be used. So I used them. Here's what I did on my first test run.
The black border tag design was sketched with a silhouette sketch pen. I couldn't believe how capable this machine was in terms of getting all the details and double lines! In the final picture, the machine cut the box and lace border; all that was left was to assemble! I made some macarons the other day and they fit perfectly inside! The "K" monogram was made with a hand cut stamp(make one yourself: link HERE).
That's all for now. Next thing to do would probably to design and cut some nail art pieces with this machine! The possibilities are endless now.
